After first draw, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) will construct 10,000 EWS and Low Income Group (LIG) housing in the city. Like other bids, the allotment of these houses will be through a draw.
Locations of these houses are yet to be announced, but sources said they will be built on some old mill land. The remaining houses will come up near industrial pockets of the city. AMC has appointed special consultants so that the project does not face any hurdles. For instance, in the financial statements for the consultants, the AMC has offered separate fees for getting approvals from various government agencies.
AMC will pay the consultant a sum of Rs 50,000 per plot for each of the individual clearance like Archaeological Survey of India, railways, Airports Authority of India and a Rs 3lakh per plot for approval from the Union ministry of environment and forests.
