Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari is reviewing the progress of national highway projects in and around Goa. With Project Director, Contractor, State Government Officers and NHAI officials, they will review over 700 projects. Of these 427 projects are being implemented by NHAI (National Highways Authority of India). While the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is implementing 369 projects.
The year 2018 has been declared as ‘Construction Year‘ by the Ministry. Out of 700 projects being reviewed, about 300 projects will be selected to complete by March 2019.
National highway projects in Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and West Bengal were planned for review. Gadkari has given instructions to officials and contractors to complete 27 thousand kilometres of work. Tender for March 2015 was forwarded to it.
