Chief minister Anandiben Patel on Sunday dedicated 876 MIG (middle income group) and LIG (lower income group) houses to beneficiaries at an event in Kathwada. She also laid foundation stones for construction of another 812 EWS-1 affordable houses for economically weaker families residing in Ahmedabad.
Apart from dedicating houses constructed by Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA), the CM also conducted Gujarat Housing Board draw for 1,228 LIG-2 houses, and 1,344 MIG-1 houses in Gota ward. She also laid foundation stones for flyovers at Anjali Crossroads and Income Tax Circle on Sunday evening. These flyovers will be constructed by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. “Flyovers at the ever-busy junctions of the city will ease traffic congestion to a great extent and reduce commuting time for Amdavadis,” said the CM.
While addressing the crowd at Kathwada, the CM said, “The government has already constructed 5 lakh – 6 lakh houses under various schemes while construction of around 2 lakh – 2.5 lakh houses is under way.”
