The city of Ahmedabad will go green with the effort from the regional development authority, AUDA.
Couple of months back, the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority with Gujarat Institute of Housing & Estate Developers (GIHED) had decided on plantation of 1 lakh saplings after first few spells of rain in order to increase the tree cover in the city, especially in the industrial areas and also the other. As a result of not achieving the target within set time limits, the civic authority has come up with an alternative plan to create more green spaces with the help of builders.
AUDA had teamed up with various builders to plant trees within it’s operational limits and has now enlisted them to make more gardens, lakes and roadside green zones. With this, a plantation of about 50,000 to 60,000 saplings is expected at existing and upcoming public places.
