Bandra-Versova sea link, Expressway, Vashi creek get Cm’s approval

On August 29, 2018, construction of projects including the Bandra-Versova sea link, a new lane on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway and the third bridge on Thane creek, at Vashi were approved by Maharashtra chief minister. In a cabinet meeting, he asked the committee to begin construction work within a month.

CM was chairing a meeting if infrastructure projects committee of his cabinet.

A release was issued by the CMO quoted that the length of Bandra-Versova sea link will be three times of the length of the existing Bandra-Worli sea link, an agency said.

The release stated that a third bridge on the Thane creek at Vashi will also be constructed and has been approved.

The release also told about the construction of a new lane (missing link) present in the ghat section between Khopoli and Khandala that will also be undertaken.

According to an agency, another part of a project that has been undertaken will be a construction of a two-stage tunnel that will begin from Khalapur toll booth and will terminate at Kusgaon, along with the connecting bridge, it added.
