The heaped up traffic congestion between Jayadev Vihar and KIIT Square shall soon be cleared by Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) with demolishing unauthorised structures on the stretch between Sainik School and Damana Square to make way for two roads running parallel to each other.

Currently, there is only one road that links Jayadev Vihar with Nandankanan which is the ultimate cause for traffic snarls. With the opening of the bridge at Trisulia to bring down the travel time between Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, the stretch has become even more crowded.

To fulfil this purpose of dividing traffic through two parallel roads, as many as 16 houses with the asbestos roof, 19 wooden cabins, a concrete house, a boundary wall, three tea stalls, three kiosks and two bamboo-polythene structures were bulldozed.

The officials stated that the Sainik school- Damana road stretch will act as a bypass for people to reach Sainik school Square en route Damana Square from the Nandankan end.

A clear good survey had been made by the enforcement squad and the BDA officials with respect to routes and illegal structures in order to work on this project.
