In what has turned out to be the most tragic incident in a series of tragedies throbbing Mumbai is the collapse of the dilapidated building which claimed 34 lives including , many women and an infant. Mumbai is constantly bearing the brunt of having the worst infrastructure contrary to the highest property rates in the country. The residential building, named Husseini, located near JJ Junction in Pakmodia street, reportedly collapsed around 8.30 am. Ambulances, 10 fire brigades and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams have been rushed to Husseini Building, which was located in a busy market area. The Chief Fire Officer and Commissioner of Police have also been mobilized. The building was 117 years old. It had two wings, both of which collapsed.
