Mumbai’s one of the most significant commercial hub Bandra-Kurla Complex is now going to be livelier even after the office hours, what with the construction of Shops, Food Court and a Super Market is approaching completion. The MMRDA has invited e-tenders from companies fulfilling eligibility criteria to run these facilities.
Located at Plot No.C-5 of the ‘GN’ Block at the junction of the 45-meter wide Bandra-Kurla Link Road and the Asian Heart Hospital the facilities are expected to keep the hub busy after office hours and even on weekends.
MMRDA Joint Project Director, Dilip Kawatkar, said, “The decision to construct the Urban Plaza was to satisfy the needs of BKC people for food courts and shops as BKC does not have proper places where people could shop and eat, especially on holidays. After the Urban Plaza comes up, people who stay in residential apartments at BKC will not have to go far to shop.”
The 4-storey Urban Plaza will provide for 11 shops and a restaurant on the ground and first floor respectively and will house Super Markets on the second, third and fourth floor.
The bidders are expected to have minimum of five years of experience of running Grade-1 facilities such as shops, restaurant and super markets anywhere in India. The annual turnover and net worth for the last financial year of the bidders should also be not less than rupees 6 and 4 crore.
The e-tenders are available on their website up to May 16, 2014 and the last date of submission of the same will be May 26, 2014 up to 12 noon.
