Bombay dyeing to handover the land to BMC and MAHADA.

The Bombay Dyeing petition challenging the Bombay High Courts order was rejected by the Supreme Court regarding the hand over of 33 percent of its mill land to the BMC and Mhada. The company had approached the HC after BMC issued a stop-work notice on March 26, 2010. The High court had given an extended stay order till August 17.
Supreme Court in its order issued on 9th august 2012 has granted six months to Bombay dyeing for handing over possession of the lands set out in Para 79(C) of its judgment to the Municipal Corporation of Greater Bombay and Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority. It also stated that in case petitioner fails to hand over possession, Municipal Corporation of Greater Bombay and Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority shall be at liberty to take possession of the concerned lands forcibly. The Bombay dyeing is now all set to hand over the land to BMC and MAHADA.
