Dominic McAllister, British deputy high commissioner on Wednesday, said Britain is ready to provide necessary assistance to the Smart City project in Hubballi-Dharwad.
McAllister informed that Mangaluru City Corporation is preparing the Smart City project report with assistance from British city designers and universities, during the discussion held with officials and members of the Commerce and Industries.
Under the Public-Private Participation mode in the twin cities, Siddalinga Hiremath, Hubbali-Dharwad Municipal Corporation commissioner, made a presentation on the plans and projects.
The district administration was ready to provide the necessary facilities for the implementation of projects with British assistance, Deputy Commissioner S B Bommanahalli said. Emphasizing the need to start industries to train youths in skill development and set up a 1,000-bed hospital in the twin cities.
Bommanahalli said the district administration would provide land free of cost along with other basic infrastructure.
