The UP cabinet today has take a decision of ‘’mutual understanding’’ between the Villagers and the Builders. The mutual agreement and the negotiations between the farmers and the builders will both together be deciding the rate at which land can be acquired. Government said the proposal will be applied to all road and expressway development projects.
In the past there had been a lot of agitations by the farmers as they have been looted by the government as well as developers as their land had been acquired at peanuts rates and it was allotted to the companies at very handsome rates.
CREDAI, Vice President RK Arora said, the best of this deal is the proposal that the farmers will also be part of the deal. They will not feel cheated as land acquisition rates will be decided by district level committees headed by district magistrate. With the purchasing agencies and land owners both being part of this committee the acquisition rate will be decided through a mutual agreement.
The Additional CEO, of Greater Noida Authority, Kumar Verma said that this decision will help in maintaining transparency in all real estate operations. Execution of work and speed up development because now there would be less chances of agitation by farmers.
The government said that in addition to compensation for their land displaced people will also receive all benefits of the state’s Relief and Rehabilitation Policy 2010. In cases where the district committee fails to reach a consensus over acquisition policy. The decisions will make the things simpler and there will be no agitation by the farmers which not only hampers construction but push back the economy. the decision will leave a good impact on home buyers because sense of security.
