Navi Mumbai Patrakar Bhavan, a common premise for the journalists from the print and electronic media will be designed and constructed by CIDCO in sector 38 of Nerul. The board of directors approved the project in-principle in a meeting held on 11th Budgetary allocation of Rs. 100 lacs has been made in the current fiscal year. The meeting presided over by the Chairman Mr. Pramod Hindurao was attended by Vice-chairman and Managing Director Mr. Sanjay Bhatia, Joint Managing Director Mrs. V. Radha, Urban Development Secretary Manukumar Shrivastav, Divisional Commissioner, Konkan, Mr. Radheshyam Mopalwar, MMRDA Commissioner Mr. UPS Madan Directors Mr. Namdev Bhagat and Mr. Vasant Bhoir as well as Company Secretary Pradeep Rath. Navi Mumbai Union of Journalists, the Press Club, Marathi Patrakar Sangh and other bodies of the journalists had been demanding a common place to conduct press conferences and media interactions. The building to be constructed on the 997.68 sq mt area will have a built-up area of 613.322 sq mt.
It will provide vehicle parking slot, exhibition hall, gymnasium, pantry etc at the ground floor and on the first floor there will be an auditorium, conference hall, library, guest room, VIP lounge, and recreation area etc.CIDCO’s architecture department will design the Patrakar Bhavan. Contract for the work will be awarded through tender and quality audit will be done by the third party monitoring committee.
