Citizens to see a sea change in infrastructure of Thane –Kalyan belt

This New Year, MMRDA gifts the residents of Thane-Kalyan- Dombivli a sea change infrastructure facilities. With a whooping amount of sum Rs 1.500crore allotted by the development body for better transportation facilities, roads and housing. Transportation is the biggest problem faced by the commuters, the work on the Kalyan Ring Route and the Dombivli –Govindwadi bypass will give some relief. The central railway also upgrades its service as sixth track being laid from Kalyan to Kurla can use it. A new skywalk for the Badlapur commuters. The Thane Municipal Corporation will be concretizing some 295roads, the Rs 226crore Station Area Traffic Improvement Scheme plan for east side of the station area is also being planned. Thane will get a new parking plaza for two –wheelers. New lifts will also be intended at the Thane station. A new Kalwa bypass starting from Shivaji Chowk up to the Nashik highway is also being built.

The Kalyan –Dombivli Municipal Corporation has allotted Rs 114crore for roads works. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority has proposed a bridge connecting Govindwadi bypass road and Manoli Naka on the highway be built. MMRDA has proposed a new ring road for Kalyan. Dombivli commuters will soon get escalators.

With so much of infrastrucre development promises, one can only wait for these to implement.
