A full-fledged project report was sought by Telangana CM K Chandrashekhar on August for the development of a regional ring road on the perennial side of the existing outer ring road, in Hyderabad. A meeting was held by Rao with officials. He said that the proposed ring road should be developed on par with international standards. He also stated that he would speak to central government officials concerned, for getting funds to start the construction of the proposed ring road.
There will be an increase of commuters from everywhere, especially to Hyderabad, the release from CM Office said. The government has decided to solve the problem by constructing the regional ring road, it said. The total length of regional ring road would be 338 km, it said.
The press release quoting Rao said, “The width of the road will be 500 ft. The proposed regional ring road should surpass the existing Mumbai-Pune and Ahmedabad-Vadodara express highways.”
