Complaints against construction of Highways increased in last 3yrs

There are systems in place to address the representations and complaints by users. According to the report received from sources, in the last three years across the country complaints against the construction of National Highways has increased. As per the stats from 2009 to 2012 complaints raised from 20 to 30. Reports comprising figures are from 2009-10 twenty complaints, 2010-11 twenty one and 2011-12 Thirty complaints has been received so far.
User fees for roads are collected in accordance with the National Highways Fee (Determination of Rates and Collection) Rules, 2008 as amended from time to time, for PPP projects as well as public funded projects, the Minister of State for Road Transport & Highways Jitin Prasada in response to a question in Rajya Sabha.
