By Accommodation Times Bureau

In the Maharashtra Budget 2012-13, it is proposed to impose tax at the time of auctioning of River beds and mining of construction sands in Maharashtra.

The state government have taken such step because of a large scale tax evasion by the mining sector on sand mining which is used for construction. The plaster of Paris used for internal plaster and as a added material for Neru finish walls is also now more costly since tax from 5% increased to 12.5% in the state budget.

State government had also increased stamp duty on lease deals substaintially.
