On this Monday, the Delhi government has decided that those who have sacrificed their land for the development of infrastructure projects will be allowed to allocated DDA flats on priority basis.
The government decided to add this provision in the new resettlement and rehabilitation policy. Whereas, land obtained for the expansion of Metro has been marked as an exception. The new provision has been made to make sure that those who have handed over their land get housing units made by the government on priority basis. The senior official said that, “the government will write to DDA in this concern.”
On the other hand government would also pay landlords financial compensation according to the current market rates. The new resettlement policy is likely to come out into effects from September 19, as Union Urban Development Ministry has already sanctioned it.
