Delhi government acquiring land to build amenities

Regularizing around 900-add colonies Delhi  government’s Urban Development (UD) is now working to acquire land in these odd colonies to build amenities like schools, dispensaries, parks, children playground, electric transformers, police posts. As per the regularization norms, a regularized colony is that which have a proper layout plan that gives number of amenities. However these colonies which were un-regularized and unplanned, government is now struggling for these amenities provision.

Senior government officer said, ‘’ it is very important for us to bring these colonies. Therefore we are looking for vacant or under used land in these areas for acquisition to build amenities’’. Also as per the norms a school can only built in at least in one acre land and for any amenities.

Urban Development minister Arvinder Singh Lovely said,’’ the work of sewage and roads is being already started, earliest we will find space to built schools, dispensaries and other amenities.
