Disposal of Assets of the Organising Committee, Commonwealth Games

The Union Cabinet today approved transfer/disposal of the following assets acquired by the Organising Committee (OC) for conduct of the Games to the Government Departments/Government Agencies, Government of Delhi, Schools etc.:

1. Handing over of the Aerostat and its accessories to the DRDO, free of cost on “as-is-where-is” basis, with waiving of customs duty, penalty, interest etc., on OC. In case there is any penalty or interest which cannot be waived, OC may pay this to Customs. The depreciated value of Aerostat so transferred would be adjusted by OC in its Books of Accounts towards repayment of Government Loan outstanding against OC.

2. Handing over the Kitchen Equipment to Ministry of Railways, free of cost on “as-is-where-is basis” with waiving of customs duty, penalty, and interest etc, if any. In case there is any duty still to be paid, OC may pay this to Customs. The depreciated value of the Kitchen Equipment so transferred would be adjusted by OC in its Books of Accounts towards repayment of Government Loan outstanding against OC.

3. Handing over of the Other Assets of the OC to various Government Departments/Government Agencies, GNCTD, Schools run by Central and State Governments, free of cost, with the approval of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. The depreciated value of the assets so transferred would be adjusted by OC in its Books of Accounts towards repayment of Government Loan outstanding against OC.

4. Handing over of other assets to IOA, NDMC and other local bodies at depreciated value. The amount so recovered would be adjusted against the dues of OC to these organizations and cash deposited by OC in Government Account.

The Cabinet also ratified the decisions taken by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and sports/Organizing Committee, CWG-2010 regarding disposal/ transfer/writing off of certain materials which have already been disposed of/ transferred by OC.
