The Haryana government is ready to take the help of drones, in monitoring and
putting an end to illegal constructions in urban areas and their peripheries. Urban
Local Bodies minister, Kavita Jain said on September 26, 2017.
In the first phase drones will be launched on a pilot project basis, and monitoring
would be done through drones in Karnal and through satellite imaging in Gurgaon
The results achieved will decide whether to make it mandatory in urban areas
throughout the state or not, said Ms. Jain.
The nodal agency; for conducting the monitoring, survey and gathering of data; is
formed by the Haryana Space Applications Centre (HARSAC). It will have to
prepare and submit a special report to the departments concerned, so that further
action can be taken.
Jain said a coordination committee is constituted under the chairmanship of the
chief secretary, which would have to meet every 15 days. It is meant to take
prompt action on any information gathered about unauthorized constructions. The
committee will also ensure the demolition of the same, Jain added.
