Election officers looting housing societies in Maharashtra

Elections in co-operative housing societies in Maharashtra are compulsory and now election officers will conduct society elections. These officers have to be nominated by the Registrar. The official fees is Rs3500/- . These election officers, so appointed, are behaving like administrators. Besides asking for official fees in advance, they also ask for out of pocket expenses of Rs4000/- to Rs 15000/- in cash and they do not give any receipt of this cash.

All the stationery and  photo copies are done at Society’s expense. These election officers are behaving as if some CBI raid is conferred on society and they ask for all records, bank account details, statements etc. While they were concern with only election, accounts and society records on NOC etc also been checked.
