On Tuesday, the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) arrested builder Shirish Dixit of Dixit Realties in another defraud case filed by some advocates.
In 2008, Dixit had promised the tenants to complete the redevelopment project in 34 months by entering into an agreement. Last week, He was arrested for allegedly defrauding 21 tenants of a Wadala building.
In the new case, Dixit and other officials of his firm are, under the excuse of redeveloping Janki Nivas in Matunga, and allegedly attracted six advocates to invest over Rs 13 crore in his project, police said.
In 2015, the tenants understood that Dixit of Dixit Realties had availed Rs 10 crore loans and mortgaged the property to Dhiren Patel of Sanghoi Group.
“He is already in police custody”, said Mohan Tekavde, the advocate of Dixit. He further added, “This is being done by some business competitors.”
