GNOIDA and UP authority got notice from SC on land acquisition row

New Delhi:
The Supreme Court has issued a notice to the authorities of Greater Noida and Uttar Pradesh following to the petition filed by a fraction of farmers challenging the acquisition of their agricultural land by the authorities in Garhi Bachchera village of Gautam Buddh Nagar district.
The division bench of justices comprising M Lodha and H L Gokhale sought a response from authorities within four seeks on the special leave petition filed by five of the aggrieved farmers challenging the judgement of the Allahabad High Court which had on October 21 last year upheld the acquisition.
The petition has been filed by farmers includes that High Court is incompetent to appreciate the fact that so far state government as well as Noida authority haven’t prepared any development plan for development of the land in question as an industrial area.
