Government to help MSRDC for the Worli-Haji Ali sea link

MSRDC( Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation) is now seeking help in terms
of funds after the Reliance Infrastructure contract got scrapped. MSRDC made a proposal in
a meeting held on 2nd August to undertake the project and decide to terminate the RInfra’s
contract.

The MSRDC had given a budget of Rs. 2,600 Cr whereas the RInfra’s budget estimated to Rs.
2,800 Cr. It has asked of 1,500 crore from the state government and this is not for the first time.
The proposed bridge is a eight-laned project that will definitely help the motorist bypass 27
traffic junctions from Bandra to Haji Ali and allow them to cover the distance in 13 minutes.
