The Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal, disclosed today that the Union Government had approved two projects for Haryana under the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS). These are connecting Delhi with Alwar via Gurugram and Manesar besides connecting Delhi with Panipat via Sonipat.
Interacting with media persons at Modern Industrial Estate Metro station in Bahadurgarh after the inauguration of the Mundka-Bahadurgarh Metro line by Prime Minister, Narender Modi, he said the Haryana Government had sent proposals to the Union Government for connecting Delhi with Palwal-Hodal under RRTS, besides laying metro lines from HUDA City Centre Gurugram to Manesar.
These also include providing connectivity to Railway Station in Old Gurugram, from Bahadurgarh to Sampla, from Mujessar to Ballabhgarh (3.5 Km stretch), Dwarka (Delhi) to Badsa (Jhajjar) where an outreach OPD of AIIMS is running and a heart care as well as a national cancer hospital is also coming up.
He said the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway was nearing completion and the Prime Minister, Mr Narender Modi, would be requested to inaugurate it. A part of this E-way, from Palwal to Manesar, has already been made operational.
The Union Government has sanctioned 11 National Highways in Haryana, having a length of 907 kilometres, which will further expedite the pace of development in the state.
The Chief Minister said he had received a number of proposals for naming the three Metro stations, falling in the territory of Haryana on Mundka-Bahadurgarh Metro line, which was inaugurated today by the Prime Minister. All these will be sent to the office of the Union Minister, Mr Hardeep Singh Puri. The committee of Delhi Metro constituted for the purpose, would take a final decision.
