Govt. officials suspended for helping land mafia in Delhi

New Delhi: Following to the probe conducted by the internal officials, in which they have found three officials guilty for helping land mafia register ownership papers of huge government land in East Delhi in the names of private parties.
According to the Secretary Vijay Dev, “Sub-registrar Harish Bajaj, tehsildar Susheel Bharti and Patwari Shyam Lal would take money from land grabbers for the fraud.”
Vijay added, Trio accused would register sales deeds of plots on government and agricultural land in Mandavali, an unauthorised colony, by giving a unique khasra number which did not exist.
Further Dev said that, the sub-registrar may write to the tehsildaar except having powers to do so, seeking a status report about a particular plot. The tehsildar, with the help of the patwari, would then give a false status report following which a sale deed would be registered.
On the other hand senior official from revenue department said that, we have received approx 154 complaints similarly out of which we have picked 39 and followed to them and found them guilty. Whereas 29 similar sale deeds relevant to government land. However, the remaining 10 were registered to plots on agricultural land.”
