The M T Krishna Babu, commissioner, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) said that, “the high-rise green building projects in Hyderabad will soon get 20% rebate on city level impact fee,” we have proposed the matter and soon it will be implemented in the forthcoming months. The fee is collected for ground plus five and above constructions as there is an impact on the city’s infrastructure.
The commissioner said in a media conclave conducted for the purpose on use of green energy in urban infrastructure organized by the Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce & Industry (Fapcci). The proposal has proposed to encourage the use of Green concept. However, recently Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had indicated that at least 10% of all infra projects in a state should have renewable energy. In AP the percentage at present is a meagre 1.78.
He further said, the state government is in talk with APCPDCL on this proposal. In the current scenario Hyderabad is using solar energy for projects according to GO 86, are given a 10% relief on property tax. And the remaining 10% rebate is if the building has a rain water harvesting system installed.
