Chief Minister, Gujarat Smt Anandiben Patel said that the Revenue Department has for the first time in 100 years undertaken a campaign to resurvey and correct the land records and handover the documents.
Chief Minister Anandiben Patel has asked the revenue officials addressing the 2nd annual conference on the Revenue Rules and Disputes Procedures focused on the need for improvements and reforms in revenue administration.
She said that the Revenue Department has for the first time in 100 years undertaken a campaign to resurvey and correct the land records and handover the documents along with maps and measurements to the original landholders. She asked the administration to deliver judgment after maximum three hearings through transparency and ensure the litigants’ trust on the government. Gujarat government to initiate to provide online linkages to land and property titles.
The Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court Justice R. Subhash Reddy described the conference as a laudable step as the bulk of disputes touched the revenue department and lands, change of names in the property. Speaking on the unique characteristics of the Gujarat Land Revenue Code, he said the revised codes be collated for wider use.
