The Gujarat Housing Board has speed up to give Gujarat public as much as affordable units, as they have decided to build 40,000 houses for low income group and economically weaker sections. Chairman Jayanti Barot said, to provide affordable housing to the poor, low, medium income group people the board has started its projects. At present GHB has started constructing 2,132 flats in Surat, Rajkot and Vadodara which is estimated to get complete in next one and half year. The flats will be allotment at the cost ranging from Rs 9lakh to 19.75lakh with the construction area housing from 681 sq ft to 971 sq ft. Adding further he said, GHB is driven by the ‘’no profit, no loss’’ philosophy all flats will be allotted at the actual cost.
The distribution of application for GHB houses has started from today and applicants can also file it online. He said, Gujarat Housing Board has total 600 acres of land in its possession and till now it has provided 1,76,000 affordable houses to the people of Gujarat and as the Government has allotted fund of Rs 85crores we have decided to give our contribution in furthering CM schemes , hence every family can have his/her house.
