Gujarat to set up 16 new GIDC Estates over 26,000 hectares land

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on August 31 said that state will set up 16 new Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) Estates over 26,000 hectares land at 50% concession, including one at Khirasara in Rajkot district.

CM was speaking at a function to mark the groundbreaking ceremony of the Rs 7.70-crore Assist to Industrial Infrastructure (AII) project at Aji GIDC Estate in Rajkot, he said that “The State Government will provide 80 per cent and the Association 20 per cent cost of AII.”

All is to provide basic infrastructure like road resurfacing, covering open gutter lines, installing CCTV cameras, street light, underground water tank and roadside paver blocks.

Rupani said that 70 per cent of MoUs signed during the Vibrant Gujarat Summit are for Small and Medium Scale Industrial Units. The state government plans to train 1-lakh apprentices in various trades, alongside skill development necessary for quality control.

Over and above 20-lakh small and medium industries working in the state, this to boost further industrial and job opportunities, a source said.
