Heritage panel nods for guest house in Raj Bhavan complex

The dignitaries and foreign visitors and NRIs visiting will be soon enjoying far better stay at a VVIP guest house being built within the Raj Bhawan complex. The Public Works Department which had proposed the idea of a ‘’VVIP guest house had submitted before the heritage committee for its clearance. The civic officials now when it has been approved divulging the details of the Raj Bhawan is 360 degree view facing the sea will have RCC sloping roofs, Mangalore’s special tiles, wooden railings for balconies. Adding further he said, the main ground plus one storied structure will be 8.05metres in height the service floor for the central staircase and the lift portion will have a height of 10.76metres. The guest house does not stand sufficient to accommodate visiting dignitaries. The existing one specifically used by the president and prime minister when they come to the city.

Chairman, of Mumbai Heritage Conservation Committee, V Rangnathan said, the proposal was discussed in detail in the committee meetings and the committee has suggested some minor changes to the plan. As they have agreed to make the changes we have granted them a NOC.
