Mumbai, Oct. 4: Minister of State for Home Affairs Ravindra Waikar said here today that positive changes will be considered for providing housing to eligible tenants, residents in existing transit camps in Mumbai city and suburbs.
He was speaking at a meeting in Mantralaya on MHADA and Mumbai Building Repair and Reconstruction Board for housing transit camp tenants under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. To send daily rent receipts to the Sion transit camps, to organize separate meetings for the needy employees, to make arrangements for repairs to the ineligible people, or to bring in a plan like the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme, cleanliness work should be regularized and streamlined.
The contractor’s payments should be given on time. It is also suggested that the list of houses available for the master list should be presented, he added. Municipal councilor Mangesh Satamkar, Chief Executive Officer of Mumbai Building Amendment Committee Sumant Bhange, Deputy Chief Executive Officer Tejosing Pawar and senior officials of MHADA were also present.
