Chief minister Raghubar Das has announced a new widow housing scheme on the lines of Indira Awaas Yojana
‘Widows belonging to the BPL category will now are covered under the widow pension scheme as well from the current financial year, he said, adding that the funds have already been sanctioned for it.
Das was addressing a public meeting after laying the foundation of and inaugurating eight projects worth Rs 490crore along the Sisai block headquarters, 29km off the district town of Gumla.
He said arrangements are being made for village-level transmission coverage of Prime Minister Narenda Modi’s Jamshedpur programme slated on April 24 and the IT department is engaged in it. He also promised to develop the states ST residential schools on the lines of Kasturba Gandhi Girls School.
Quizzed about the water crisis, Das said the problem is not only in Gumla but across the state. Plans are being chalked out to resolve it by the end of 2017, he added.
Inaugurating the Palkot-Konbir road and laying the foundation of seven road schemes online, the CM said the government will spend Rs 900crore in the road sector.
