The Chief administrator directed Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) to not process any application of plots with dues. Allottees with pending water and other bills will not be able to sell or transfer their property in Huda sectors. The direction has been issued in view of the increasing number of dues.
The chief administrator of Huda, J Ganeshan, in a meeting with estate officers and other officials, asked details about the pending dues from allottees. The engineering wing of Huda informed that they have to collect around Rs 48.79 lakh against pending water and sewerage bill. Chief administrator directed to disconnect the supply of defaulters and to also stop other facilities
Rolling under financial crisis, Huda was struggling to maintain water supply. A few months ago, Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (HVPN) had issued a notice to the urban development authority for non-payment of power bill for two of its water treatment plants at Basai and Chandu Budhera.
Every month, Huda pays Rs 3 crore for power consumption for water supply, apart from this Rs 5 crores is spent every month on maintenance.
An official said, adding that they are going to take strict action against defaulters, “We spend a huge amount on maintenance and operation of water supply.”
Huda has issued notices to 2456 plot owners in different sectors of Gurgaon.
