India’s First Community Management Conference

The International Real Estate Community Management Summit (IRECMS), which will be held on 20th February 2019 at Taj Lands End, Mumbai, is a path-breaking event. It is the first time in the history of India that a summit, which discusses the concept of Real Estate Community Management, will take place within the country.

As the urban population grows exponentially and aspirations soar astronomically, it is essential that Real Estate Development provides not only housing but also a lifestyle to the population. The Indian Real Estate market is going to touch $1 trillion by 2030 according to a recent study done by the Economic Times. It is estimated that by the year 2047, over 700 million people in India will be living in cities. Smaller towns will also develop as thriving metropolises and there will be more 2nd and 3rd tier cities in the future. As a result of all these factors, the trend of building gated communities that offer better and more luxurious living experience is on the rise in India.

Dubai-based Jatin Deepchandani, CEO of Plan3Media, the company that has organised the event said, “With the return of many NRIs back to India and a vast amount of Indians now travelling abroad there is the great expectation of world-class services in their communities. This has led to developers constantly trying to create buildings and communities to compete with the best in the world and attract new clientele.”

Deepchandani believes that while this is a great trend, so much complicated infrastructure and systems in new towers with shared amenities, play areas and green spaces must also be managed properly. “It is imperative to have a dedicated team of professionals to manage the space much like a well-oiled machine. And that is what we aim to discuss with top professionals at IRECMS.”

IRECMS is being supported by the US-based Community Associations Institute, a 45-year-old Institute with more than 40,000 members. The institute’s CEO Thomas Skiba and President John Hammersmith will be presenting at the conference. IRECMS is also endorsed by the Consejo General de Colegios de Administradores de Fincas de Espana which is the apex body that governs the Community Management profession in Spain.

Among the many speakers are Jeevan J D’Mello called the ‘Father of Community Management’ and who has managed almost all of Dubai’s most iconic properties including Burj Khalifa, Pepe Gutierrez, Spain and Latin America’s ‘Guru of Community Management’ who manages some of Spain’s most beautiful communities and thought-leaders like P. Ramakrishnan (COO, Lodha Group), Namita Mehta (CSO, Emaar India), Nayan Shah (MD & CEO, Mayfair Housing), Hari Easwaran (Head of Contracts & Procurement, L&T Realty), Prashant Mewada (Director, Runwal Group), Agnelorajesh Athaide (Chairman, St. Angelo’s VNCT Ventures) and many more.

IRECMS promises to be a melting pot where Indian decision makers in the Real Estate industry will network with their international counterparts and discuss ways and means to change, develop and enhance the quality of gated communities within the country. This conference will change the outlook of Real Estate management in India.
