JDA flags illegal sale of its land

The Jammu Development Authority (JDA) warned about some deceitful elements that are wallowing in an illegal sale of its land in 26 areas of the city and also asked people to be cautioned against buying such plots. The statement by the JDA vice chairman was that some deceitful elements are getting involved in the sale of the land in some areas by misreporting facts on account of invalid papers and are thus cheating the general public.

These areas which are encompassed in this illegal works are Pargalta, Majalta, Nagrota, Jagti, Khanpur, Sitni, Panj Grain, etc of Jammu city.

He also said that the potential buyers are hereby admonished against purchasing such and any sale/purchase on account of affidavits or without any revenue documents will be illegal and invalid.

He stated that persons resorting to such sale and purchase of land via illegal means are culpable to punishment under pertinent provisions of law.

The CAG has earlier pulled up the Jammu Development Authority regarding the asserting enormous intrusions of state land and for failing to demarcate over 7,200 acres of its land. It also asked the state government to direct the authority to register the land and take its possession.

CAG conveyed concern in the Assembly recently about out of demarcated land that has been measured over 2,235 acres and there also exists 351 acres of land that had been impinged upon and remained under illegal occupation.
