Kerala Floods: NHB to provide concessional refinance for construction, repair houses

Financial Services Secretary Rajiv Kumar on August 29 in its tweet said, for construction and repair of houses affected by Kerala floods, Rs 200 crore allocated from refinance scheme of National Housing Bank (NHB) under the Affordable Housing Fund to facilitate Housing Loan at a concessional interest rate to houses

Kumar in its series of tweets he said, “Need-based moratorium up to 1 year and rescheduling instalments accordingly. As part of the scheme, need-based top-up loans for house repairs will be provided.”

He further said, no penal interest on current due.

The banking service in Kerala resorted through temporary bank branches under Banking Services Restored and ATM services on priority and biometric enabled micro ATM’s is being deployed. he said in its another tweet.

Kumar said to stabilise worst hit Agriculture and MSMEs sectors in Kerala Flood following measures including the moratorium, need-based fresh loans, no penal interest on current dues etc is being taken.
