Kerala Floods: State Provides Over 1.8 Cr To Rebuild Houses

An amount of Rs 1.83 crore was distributed to the district for repairing damaged houses on August 31, said the official.  The amount was distributed from the Collectorate to various taluks.

In the district, 28 people lost their lives in the monsoon season. Around Rs 10,000 was given to families in relief camps and 31 families were distributed from the collectorate.

The compensation was distributed to the farmers. A sum of Rs 239.49 lakh has been allocated through the bank accounts of farmers with an amount of Rs 29.59 lakh and Rs 2.9 lakh sanctioned by district collector through SDRF.

Principal Agriculture Officer Mariam Jacob said that the remaining amount of the allotment was allocated for the completion of this week. She said the compensation in the amount of Rs 13,42378 lakh submitted by the district collector in SDRF would soon be disbursed.
