To please the farmers, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has hiked the compensation rate for the land acquisition from Rs 1,093 per sq m to Rs. 1, 186 sqm but the new rate will only be applicable only for land acquired after April 1. The authority official said the hike has been implemented following farmer’s demands and increase in inflation rate.
The compensation rates for the remaining districts have also been raised 8.5%. The decision to implement the hike was approved by the authority on 9th April. One of the official said the compensation offered to farmer in Yamuna Expressway area is the best among what is provided by other states. The annuity policy of UP government that provides rehabilitation benefits is also quite lucrative.
