5200 units are to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 1800 crore
Delhi is going to witness largest first of it’s kind of Police Housing project, under Public Private Partnership (PPP) on the outskirts of the region. On Monday Lt. Governor of Delhi Shri Tejendra Khanna, laid the foundation stone for the mega project, at Dheerpur. This is the first project sanctioned by the Govt. of India, under PPP model with M/s Punj Lloyd, a renowned infrastructure company as Concessionaire. The project is to provide dwelling for the Delhi Police personnel, the structure consists of 5200 units of various types.
The project will be spread over vast 60 acres plot, on which 85% units will be constructed for the constabulary and the lower ranks of Delhi Police. The estimated cost of the project is a whopping Rs. 1800 crore and consists of 4256 type-II quarters prepared for constables, 700 type-III quarters for sub-inspectors and 246 type 4 quarters for senior officers, 14 storey. M/s Indraprastha Metropolitan Development Limited while expeditiously executing the project in 885 days shall also maintain these structures for a period of 25 years.
This housing complex will additionally have provisions for school, shopping areas, medical and community facilities and will provide a contemporary and modern way of life to the personnel of Delhi Police. This housing project will be a trial-blazer in addressing the housing need of police personnel and will set an example for rest of the nation, given the uniqueness of the model. The complex is blessed with good connectivity with the outer ring road, proximity to the Metro Hubs and well connected to prominent hospitals, educational and recreational centers, the Dheerpur housing complex will arguably become the most sought after residential address in this part of Delhi.
