New Delhi, 16 November 2016: Madhya Pradesh Police Housing & Infrastructure Development Corporation (MPPH&IDC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment (GRIHA) Council with the objective of obtaining GRIHA Rating for all their upcoming large constructions. This MoU was signed on the sidelines of the 5th All India Conference of Police Housing Corporations held at Bhopal on 15th November 2016, organised under the aegis of the Bureau of Police Research & Development (BPR&D), Ministry of Home Affairs. While inaugurating the conference, the Hon’ble Minister for Urban Development & Housing, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh, Smt. Maya Singh welcomed this initiative with MPPH&IDC being the first corporation to commit itself towards green buildings. In her opening remarks, the DG BPR&D, Smt. M.C. Borwankarsaid that she hoped all other police housing corporations would follow suit.
Under the MoU, GRIHA agreed to provide technical support to the MPPH&IDC for integrating green design features in their building plans and thereafter help the projects obtain GRIHA Rating. To begin with, the GRIHA Council CEO, Mr Sanjay Seth suggested that all building plans of the proposed construction by MPPH&IDC would be modified to meet the green building norms and comply with GRIHA Rating system.
The MoU was signed by Mr Sanjay Rana on behalf of MPPH&IDC and by Mr Sanjay Seth on behalf of GRIHA Council in the presence of Mr Sarbjeet Singh, Chairman, MPPH&IDC.
