Mumbai, October 6, 2010: Maharashtra Chamber of Housing Industry (MCHI), an apex body of over 500 developers across Mumbai city today handed over a cheque of Rupees 10 lakh as a part of its financial assistance towards the anti-malaria campaign launched by the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM).
MCHI President Mr. Sunil Mantri today handed over a cheque of Rs. 10 lakh to the MCGM Commissioner Mr. Swadhin Kshatriya at the MCGM headquarters today.
Speaking on the occasion, the MCGM Commissioner Mr. Swadhin Kshatriya said, “MCGM appreciates MCHI’s wholehearted support towards the anti-malaria campaign
by initiating various proactive measures at the construction sites right from the distribution of health cards to appointing doctors at the construction sites across Mumbai. It was really heartening to see the overwhelming response from the private corporate bodies to the call given by the Mumbai Mayor Mrs. Shraddha Jadhav”.
Mr. Sunil Mantri, President MCHI said, “We assure full support to the MCGM’s anti-malaria campaign and it is our suggestion that the MCGM should set up a separate special anti-malaria cell to monitor the epidemic continuously”.
In its special drive, the MCHI had initiated several measures on war-footing to fight the spread of malaria in the city. MCHI had also offered ten thousand Mosquito nets to MCGM.
Among those were present on the occasion includes MCHI Hon. Secretary Mr. Deepak Goradia, MCHI Vice Presidents Mr. Mayur Shah and Mr. Dharmesh Jain, MCHI Joint Hon. Secretary Mr. Rajan Bandelkar and MCHI Managing Committee Member Mr. S B Nahar.
