MCHI to support BMC’s Anti-Malaria Campaign

Mr. Paras Gundecha, President, Maharashtra Chamber of Housing Industry (MCHI) today handed over a cheque for Rs. 10 Lakhs to Ms. Manisha P Mhaiskar, Additional Municipal Commissioner of Mumbai Municipal Corporation for the Corporation’s Anti-Malaria campaign. Mr. Gundecha was accompanied by MCHI members, Mr. Boman Irani, Hon. Secretary, Mr. Nayan Shah, Vice President, and Mr. Nainesh Shah Hon. Joint Secretary.
Ms. Mhaiskar said that many key malaria infestation areas are slums. She sought MCHI’s assistance and MCHI office-bearers volunteered to penetrate these areas and carry forward the malaria-prevention campaign in their respective wards. They would undertake appropriate measures to prevent the spread of malaria.
MCHI will further support the MCGM’s campaign by supplementing it with advertisements in Press media and on outdoor hoardings.
MCHI was responding to the corporation’s request for support in fighting the menace of malaria, with the objective of making malaria a thing of the past.
Mr. Boman Irani, Secretary, stated that MCHI has issued directives to their members to educate their workers and to take all precautions in keeping their area mosquito and malaria-free. MCHI has circulated a list of measures, including coverage of water storage tanks, filling up of potholes, hygienic site conditions, service of qualified health practitioner, and others that MCHI members can take in overcoming the menace of malaria.
