In order to fasten and ease the work procedure concerned to permissions associated with building construction and layout, MHADA has outlined to form three special cells.
These new cells would serve permissions related to building constructed under PMAY scheme, redevelopment of old MHADA buildings, and layout sanctions, MHADA officials said.
MHADA official said, “These cells are planned in order to fasten the process of building plan approvals and will be operational from June 1 onwards”.
The official added, permissions related to sanctioning of building projects, FSI and layout plan we had to take permissions from civic body, earlier which it would take time to accept approvals for main projects and thereby get stuck.
We do not want the projects to remain stuck due to non-approval of building layout, said official; it further added that it took at least 10 years for approval of redevelopment projects at DN Nagar area by the civic body.
MHADA is an apex public body constituted under MHAD ACT 1976, established in 1977 under Housing Department Government of Maharashtra and integrated the activities and functions performed by statutory bodies to provide comprehensive, co-ordinate approach to the problems of housing.
