The illegal seven floors added to the Aster Tower in Mira Road which is in total defiance of the law is knocked down
The Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) has finally seems to take a tough stand against multi-storey towers that have illegally constructed by the very influential builders in the city Ravi Developers. The civic chief –Suresh Kakani gave the direction to knock down the top seven floors of the 17storey Gaurav Aster Towers located in Hatkesh Area of Mira Road. By law which is survey number: 27, hissa 8/9 totally against the law the developer constructed 7 additional floors.
The demolition squad Mohite said, the builder had illegally added seven floors to house a total of 75 flats a top the three winged mega residential complex. While more than 70 civic personnel were deployed for manual demolition, the MBMC used four jack hammers to create large holes on the flooring of the common passages of each storey. The civic administration had already registered a case under the relevant sections of the Maharashtra Regional Town Planning (MRTP) Act at the Kashimira Police Station against the directors of the construction company, who are said to be close to an influential state-level political leader of the ruling governance.
The developers have sold almost most of the flats and now the only suffers are the buyers to whom the possession of the flats is given. The more trouble, is some buyers has been registered their flats after paying the stamp duty and registration charges. When tried contacting the owner of Ravi Builder Ketan Shah he remained unavailable.
