In a bid to speed up the work on ambitious Metro-3 project, Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRCL) today floated a tender worth Rs 129.32 crore for the civil and other development work at the Metro Car Depot at Aarey Colony, Goregaon.
The move is aimed to support the work on the 32.5 Km long Colaba-Bandra-Seepz underground metro.
MMRCL, which is the implementing authority for the Metro project, has floated the tender for three works. The first work is the construction of boundary retaining wall, RCC storm water drain, ground development at Metro Line-3 Car Depot. The estimated cost is Rs 109.80 crore and the project is expected to be completed in 24 months.
The second work is the construction of Playback Training Room (PTR) building (G+3) at Metro Line-3 Car Depot and this needs to be completed in 18 months. The estimated cost is Rs 7.88 crore.
The third work involves diversion of 1200 mm and 600 mm diameter water supply lines at Metro Line-3 Car Depot and the project cost is Rs 11.64 crore. This work is expected to be completed in 18 months.
The Colaba-Seepz metro will comprise of 27 stations; out of which 26 will be underground and one at grade (ground level-Goregaon). The underground construction will be in the range of 15 to 25 meters deep. The 32.5 km construction will be carried out in seven packages simultaneously.
The 27 stations on the Colaba-SEEPZ Metro corridor are – Cuffe Parade, Vidhan Bhavan, Churchgate, Hutatma Chowk, CST Metro, Kalbadevi, Girgaon, Grant Road, Mumbai Central, Mahalaxmi Metro, Science Museum, Acharya Atre Chowk, Worli, Siddhi Vinayak, Dadar Metro, Shitaladevi Temple, Dharavi, BKC Metro, Vidya Nagari, Santacruz, Chhatrapati Shivaji Airport (Domestic), Sahar Road, Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Marol Naka, MIDC, SEEPZ and Goregaon.
