MMRDA authority not happy with Metro delay

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) authority for the Metro first line is not happy with the work process which is constructing the Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar line to identify the “problem” areas.
The senior officials of MMRDA have tried to find ways to overcome from the obstacles which are coming into the construction process of first phase of Metro.
In the meeting the additional commissioner of MMRDA S Srinivas said that, the construction work of Metro Depot at DN Nagar is doing well and is likely to be complete in coming five months.” The additional commissioner added that, in pockets along the route, encroachments and residents’ refusal to move out were not allowing the authorities to have a “clear right of way”.
Srinivas further said that, the biggest hurdles have cleared with the rehabilitation of the residents, now the construction work has to be progress fast.
