MMRDA extends last date for filing bid documents for MTHL

Mumbai, May 24, 2011 – The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has invited to global consultancy firms for the techno-economic feasibility study of the Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link (MTHL). And MMRDA has received the overwhelming response from the Indian and International consultancy firms, who showed keen interest in taking up the techno-economic feasibility study of the Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link (MTHL). Approx one hundred consultancy firms have made enquiries and more than forty firms have sought for the tender documents can now file tender documents by June 24, 2011.
The earlier date for filing tender documents – June 16, 2011 – has been changed owing to the modifications and suggestions made by the eager consultancy firms during the pre-bid meeting which have been scrutinized and incorporated in the resultant revised Request for Proposal (RFP).
The MMRDA has acceded to the suggestion of deleting the requirement of experience of pre-tender services for Metro Project. Likewise, the bidders will now be able to offer bank guarantee for an amount of rupees five lakh as the bid security amount. As far as the suggestion to separate the scope of feasibility study for the road and Metro Rail component is concerned, the Authority negated the same and insisted on submitting suggestions to the viability of the two components together or otherwise.
The pre-bid meeting was held on May 12, 2011 and the modifications and the suggestions made were scrutinized on May 18, 2011 by the committee headed by the Metropolitan Commissioner.
