MMRDA opens Dahisar-East skywalk

Mumbai, February 2, 2009 – The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has thrown open yet another skywalk open for public at Dahisar-East, which runs from Dahisar railway station to Sammelan Hotel on SV Road.
“The 14.45-crore Dahisar-East skywalk is 400 meters long and four meters wide. The construction of the remaining 77-meter arm will soon be completed as MMRDA received permission from the railway authorities only a month back. The same too will be opened shortly”, said Mr. Ratnakar Gaikwad, Metropolitan Commissioner, MMRDA.
The MMRDA has, till today, thrown open, fully, four skywalks at Bandra-E, Bandra-E extension up to Bandra Court, Kanjurmarg and Badlapur-W. The Authority has opened, in all, 6 more skywalks partially at Borivli-W, Ulhasnagar-W, Mira Road-E, Chembur-W, Ghatkopar-W and Dahisar-W.
The MMRDA will be constructing in all 51 skywalks in the city of Mumbai and it’s Metropolitan Region
