Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) on August 1, 2018, passed a circular in which it mentioned the modification of House Building Advance (HBA) Rules- 2017. Under the section of purpose, it changed the para 2(i).
In the circular signed by Shailendra Vikram Singh, Director of Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs it said, Para 2(i) may be read as, “Constructing a new house on the plot owned by the employee or the employee and the employee’s wife/husband jointly with the clear title of the plot.”
All the other existing provisions in the said Office Memorandum (OM) of even no. dated November 9, 2017, shall remain the same, it further added.
Early in the para 2 (i) of HBA Rules-2017, it stated that constructing a new house on the plot owned by the employee or spouse, either jointly or individually.
Grant of House Building Advance for Central Government employees is regulated in terms of rules and regulations laid down from time to time by the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (erstwhile Ministry of Urban Development).
